Overview
Part of signing up for a ClickBank account is selecting an account nickname. Your account nickname is a unique identifier that allows for all transactions related to your account, seller or affiliate, to be accurately tracked.
NOTE: Your account nickname cannot be changed once you have selected it. If you wish to change your nickname, you must sign up for a new ClickBank account and close your existing account.
Account Nickname Uses
Here is how your account nickname is used:
Sales Materials
Your account nickname also appears as part of your payment links and your encrypted HopLinks. It is visible to customers every time a product is sold and also appears on the memo line of the check issued to your from ClickBank.
Account nicknames are connected to a primary ClickBank account. This allows ClickBank Clients to have multiple connect account nicknames and view their reporting from a central hub.
If you have multiple offers that will have their own Marketplace Listing, you will need to create a nickname for each offer. If you are currently a ClickBank user with a single account nickname, you can sell or promote one (or multiple) products from that account. However, you may want an additional ClickBank account nickname to sell/promote products from a different industry or a separate niche. You can create additional ClickBank account nicknames that you can access with a single set of login credentials through a primary account.
Troubleshooting Nickname Creation Issues
Common Reasons for Nickname Creation Issues
Incomplete Account Verification: You cannot create a nickname until your account verification process is fully completed. This is a mandatory step to ensure your account is approved and ready for use. Without completing verification, nickname creation will remain unavailable.
Profile Information Needs Updating: If your account verification is complete but you still cannot create a nickname, it may be due to outdated or incomplete profile information. Updating and re-saving your profile details can often resolve this issue.
Reactivating an Inactive Account: If your previous ClickBank nickname account was closed due to inactivity, you will need to create a new nickname to proceed. This can be done from the "Accounts" tab in your ClickBank account.
Duplicate Account Details: If you encounter an error while trying to create a new account, it may be because an account already exists with the same details. In this case, you should log in to your existing account using your current credentials instead of attempting to create a new one.
To Create Additional Nicknames:
Step 2: Click the Accounts tab.
Step 3: Click Create Account.
Step 4: Select the type of ClickBank account you want to create from the Account Type dropdown menu.
Step 5: Create an account nickname. NOTE: You cannot change your account nickname once you create it.
Step 6: Click Sign Up. Click the hyperlinked account nickname to access the sales account interface, NOTE: If you create a new sales account, it cannot be deleted from your linked accounts and will always display in the list of accounts.
When you log in to access your multiple accounts, you will use the email address affiliated with the accounts--not the nickname of the account.
Your account nickname is the identifier of the account. Once it is selected, it cannot be changed. The account nickname is primarily used for transaction tracking purposes. However, it is displayed to the customer during the ordering process as well as in the memo of all payments you receive from ClickBank and in any referral payment links. We encourage you to keep that in mind when choosing your account nickname.
